Ellivere of the Wild Court costs {2}{G}{W} and is a 4/4. Whenever it enters or attacks, you create a Virtuous Role token attached to another target creature you control, which gives that creature +1/+1 for each enchantment you control. Whenever an enchanted creature you control deals combat damage to a player, you draw a card. A Role is an Aura, so every attack makes one more.
The precon already has the enchantment draw and the ramp, including Sanctum Weaver, Setessan Champion, Utopia Sprawl and Eidolon of Blossoms. Each swap below pairs a cut with an add, and every card is scored with the same numbers the Oracle uses to build decks: synergy and inclusion from the Ellivere decks, plus lift, which shows how much more often a card turns up in Ellivere decks than in decks that could play it.

What is holding the deck back
Not enough Aura engines
Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor, Danitha, New Benalia's Light, Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice and Golden-Tail Trainer draw, recast, fetch and cheapen Auras. They are among the top-scoring cards the precon leaves out.
Few payoffs for an enchanted creature
Archon of the Wild Rose, All That Glitters, Rancor and Strength of the Harvest make an enchanted creature into a huge attacker, and Sythis draws whenever you cast an enchantment.
Cards that do nothing with an Aura
Ox Drover, Realm-Cloaked Giant, Sylvan Ranger, Syr Armont and Tithe Taker are not cards Ellivere, and Liberated Livestock and Loamcrafter Faun are each played in about one deck in eleven decks usually play.
The 14 swaps
Each pair shows the numbers for the card coming out and the card going in. Click a card image to zoom.

Ox Drover is a 4/4 vigilance Human for {3}{W} that gives an opponent a 2/4 Ox whenever it enters or attacks. It is not a card Ellivere decks usually play.
Sythis, Harvest's Hand is a 1/2 enchantment creature for {G}{W}. Whenever you cast an enchantment spell, you gain 1 life and draw a card. A two-drop that is a card for every Aura, and it is the highest-scoring card the precon leaves out apart from Wild Growth.

Realm-Cloaked Giant is a seven-mana 7/7 whose adventure destroys all non-Giant creatures. It is not a card Ellivere decks usually play.
Archon of the Wild Rose is a 4/4 flier for {2}{W}{W}. Other creatures you control that are enchanted by Auras you control have base power and toughness 4/4 and have flying. Ellivere's Virtuous Role is one of those Auras, so any creature with one is a 4/4 flier.

Sylvan Ranger is a 1/1 for {1}{G} that fetches a basic land. It is not a card Ellivere decks usually play.
Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor is a 3/4 lifelink Fox Advisor for {1}{W}{W}. Enchantment spells you cast have affinity for Auras, and whenever you cast an Aura that targets a modified permanent you control, you draw a card. A three-drop that makes every enchantment cheaper.

Syr Armont, the Redeemer is a 4/4 for {3}{G}{W} that makes a Monster Role and pumps enchanted creatures. It is not a card Ellivere decks usually play.
Danitha, New Benalia's Light is a 2/2 vigilance, trample, lifelink Knight for {1}{G}{W}. Once during each of your turns, you may cast an Aura or Equipment spell from your graveyard. Every Aura that dies can be cast again.

Tithe Taker is a 2/1 for {1}{W} that taxes opponents on your turn and leaves a Spirit. It is not a card Ellivere decks usually play.
Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice is a 2/2 Fox Advisor for {1}{W}. Whenever an Aura you control enters, if you cast it, you may search for an Aura with mana value no greater than that Aura and a different name from each Aura you control, and put it onto the battlefield attached to Light-Paws. Every Aura you cast brings another.

Liberated Livestock is a six-mana 4/6 that makes three tokens when it dies. It is played in about one Ellivere deck in eleven.
Grasp of Fate costs {1}{W}{W}. When it enters, for each opponent you exile up to one target nonland permanent that player controls until it leaves the battlefield. A three-mana enchantment that removes a permanent from each opponent and counts as an enchantment.

Loamcrafter Faun is a 3/3 for {2}{G} that returns permanents if you discard lands. It is played in about one Ellivere deck in eleven.
Golden-Tail Trainer is a 1/3 Fox Samurai for {1}{G}{W}. Aura and Equipment spells you cast cost {X} less, where X is its power, and when it attacks other modified creatures get +X/+X. Every Aura cheaper and every enchanted creature bigger.

Warbriar Blessing is an Aura that makes a creature fight and gives +0/+2. It is played in about one Ellivere deck in six.
All That Glitters costs {1}{W}. The enchanted creature gets +1/+1 for each artifact and enchantment you control. In an enchantment deck it grows with every enchantment you play, for two mana.

Verdant Embrace is a five-mana Aura that gives +3/+3 and makes a Saproling each upkeep. It is played in about one Ellivere deck in six.
Rancor costs {G}. The enchanted creature gets +2/+0 and has trample, and when Rancor goes to the graveyard from the battlefield it returns to your hand. A one-mana Aura that comes back every time the creature dies.

Pollenbright Wings is a six-mana Aura that gives flying and makes Saprolings when the creature connects. It is played in about one Ellivere deck in six.
Strength of the Harvest costs {2}{G/W} and gives the enchanted creature +1/+1 for each creature and enchantment you control. Its other half, Haven of the Harvest, is a land that enters tapped and taps for {G} or {W}, so it is never a dead card.

Careful Cultivation ({2}{G}) is one of the lowest-scoring cards in the precon, at 15 in the Oracle: it is in 16% of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks with 15% synergy. It reads: Enchant artifact or creature. As long as enchanted permanent is a creature, it gets +1/+3 and has reach and "{T}: Add {G}{G}.".
Wild Growth ({G}) scores 51: it is in 63% of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks with 44% synergy. It reads: Enchant land. Whenever enchanted land is tapped for mana, its controller adds an additional {G}.

Celestial Archon ({3}{W}{W}) is one of the lowest-scoring cards in the precon, at 17 in the Oracle: it is in 17% of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks with 17% synergy. It reads: Bestow {5}{W}{W}. Flying, first strike. Enchanted creature gets +4/+4 and has flying and first strike.
Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar ({1}{G}{W}) scores 39: it is in 57% of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks with 26% synergy. It reads: Your opponents can't cast spells during your turn. Whenever one or more creatures you control each with power greater than its base power deals combat damage to a player, draw a card.

Paradise Druid ({1}{G}) is one of the lowest-scoring cards in the precon, at 19 in the Oracle: it is in 20% of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks with 19% synergy. It reads: This creature has hexproof as long as it's untapped. {T}: Add one mana of any color.
Kodama of the West Tree ({2}{G}) scores 33: it is in 38% of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks with 30% synergy. It reads: Reach. Modified creatures you control have trample. Whenever a modified creature you control deals combat damage to a player, search your library for a basic land card, put it onto the battlefield tapped, then shuffle.

Rishkar's Expertise ({4}{G}{G}) is one of the lowest-scoring cards in the precon, at 22 in the Oracle: it is in 27% of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks with 18% synergy. It reads: Draw cards equal to the greatest power among creatures you control. You may cast a spell with mana value 5 or less from your hand without paying its mana cost.
Calix, Guided by Fate ({1}{G}{W}) scores 32: it is in 35% of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks with 30% synergy. It reads: Constellation : Whenever Calix or another enchantment you control enters, put a +1/+1 counter on target creature.

What to keep
These cards are doing the deck's heavy lifting. Do not cut them.
- Sanctum Weaver$3.68
Played in 90% of Ellivere decks. Taps for X mana of one color, where X is the number of enchantments you control. - Setessan Champion$3.65
Draws a card and grows whenever an enchantment enters under your control. - Utopia Sprawl$1.36
A one-mana Aura that ramps a Forest and is an enchantment for Setessan Champion. - Eidolon of Blossoms$1.89
Draws a card whenever it or another enchantment enters under your control. - Umbra Mystic$5.42
Gives umbra armor to Auras on your permanents, so an enchanted creature survives destruction.
If you want to spend more
These are strong but sit outside a budget upgrade. Prices are the cheapest paper printing.
- Sigarda, Font of Blessings$4.68
A 4/4 flier that gives your other permanents hexproof and lets you cast Angels and Humans from the top of your library. It costs more than a budget upgrade should. - Sterling Grove$4.46
Protects your enchantments and can be sacrificed to tutor one. - Sheltered by Ghosts$1.01
An Aura that exiles a permanent and gives lifelink and ward {2} to your creature.
Virtue and Valor already has the enchantment draw and the ramp. The upgrade is cheap engines that fetch, cheapen and recast Auras and big Auras for Ellivere's Roles to join, in place of cards that do nothing with an Aura. These fourteen swaps cost about $43 in total.

How the numbers work
Inclusion is the share of Ellivere of the Wild Court decks (7,737 of them when this was written, 2026-10-27) that play the card. Synergy is how much more often they play it than other decks in the same colours. Oracle score is synergy × 0.6 plus inclusion × 0.4, the same blend The Oracle uses to rank cards for a deck. Lift compares how often the card appears in these decks with how often it could, capped at 8× here; it is shown for context and does not change the score.
Two cautions. Players who run the precon unmodified count as Ellivere of the Wild Court decks, which flatters every card the precon contains. Lift is moderate for most of these cards because they are played in many Selesnya enchantment decks, so use lift to compare cards, not to judge one in isolation. A card the commander's decks do not usually play counts as 0 in the average score. Prices are the cheapest non-foil paper printing on TCGplayer (via Scryfall), in USD, and move daily.
