Overview
Bedecked Brokers is a counters deck with a focus on variety. Perrie, the Pulverizer puts a shield counter on a target creature when she enters, and whenever she attacks, target creature you control gains trample and gets +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of different kinds of counters among permanents you control. The more kinds of counter you have, the bigger that attack is.
The 99 cards are 30 creatures, 1 planeswalker, 12 artifacts, 5 enchantments, 7 instants, 6 sorceries and 38 lands. The creatures include counter makers such as Luminarch Aspirant, Rishkar, Peema Renegade and Skyboon Evangelist, proliferate creatures such as Evolution Sage, Grateful Apparition and Thrummingbird, and cards that make different counters, such as Crystalline Giant, Aven Mimeomancer and Agent's Toolkit.
Key Cards
Playing the Deck
The early game is about mana and cheap counter creatures. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Fellwar Stone, Devoted Druid, Incubation Druid and Everflowing Chalice provide mana, and Luminarch Aspirant, Aven Courier and Grateful Apparition come down early. Wall of Roots puts -0/-1 counters on itself to make mana, which adds another kind of counter.
The middle of the game is about proliferating and spreading counters. Evolution Sage, Thrummingbird and Skyship Plunderer copy the counters you already have, Vorel of the Hull Clade doubles counters, and Power Conduit moves counters between permanents. Fathom Mage, Hoofprints of the Stag and Primal Empathy draw cards, Family's Favor and Contractual Safeguard give out shield counters, and Tezzeret's Gambit draws and proliferates.
The late game is about a big attack and a reset. Perrie, the Pulverizer makes a creature huge, Bribe Taker copies the counters on your permanents onto itself, Brokers Confluence proliferates and Storm of Forms copies itself for each kind of counter you control. Damning Verdict destroys all creatures with no counters on them, which spares your own board, and Planar Outburst and Oblivion Stone reset the game.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: The deck has a lot of ways to make different kinds of counters, so Perrie's attack is huge in the late game, and it has a lot of proliferate and doubling effects. It also has strong interaction, including Declaration in Stone, Generous Gift, Brokers Charm, Bant Charm and Shield Broker.
Weaknesses: The deck relies on creatures with counters, so a sweeper or heavy removal can undo a lot of work. A few of its payoffs, such as Hoofprints of the Stag, are slow, and many of its best cards are expensive or need multiple colours of mana.
