Overview

Feline Ferocity is a Cat tribal deck that also loves Equipment. Arahbo, Roar of the World has eminence, so while it is in the command zone or on the battlefield, at the beginning of combat on your turn another target Cat you control gets +3/+3 until end of turn. Whenever another Cat you control attacks, you may pay {1}{G}{W} to give it trample and +X/+X, where X is its power.

The 99 cards are 24 creatures, 19 artifacts, 5 enchantments, 6 instants, 8 sorceries and 37 lands. Every creature is a Cat, including Fleecemane Lion, Jazal Goldmane, Kemba, Kha Regent, Balan, Wandering Knight, Raksha Golden Cub and Jedit Ojanen of Efrava. Fourteen of the artifacts are Equipment, such as Hammer of Nazahn, Loxodon Warhammer, Behemoth Sledge, Argentum Armor and Skullclamp, and Equipment fetchers such as Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith and Taj-Nar Swordsmith find them.

Key Cards

◈
Kemba, Kha Regent
Token Maker · Equipment Payoff
A 2/4 for {1}{W}{W}. At the beginning of your upkeep, you create a 2/2 white Cat creature token for each Equipment attached to Kemba. A fully loaded Kemba makes a Cat army and each Cat is another body for Arahbo.
◈
Balan, Wandering Knight
Voltron · Equipment
A 3/3 for {2}{W}{W}. It has first strike and has double strike while two or more Equipment are attached to it, and for {1}{W} you attach all Equipment you control to it. It gathers your Equipment and attacks.
◈
Jazal Goldmane
Team Pump · First Strike
A 4/4 for {2}{W}{W}. It has first strike, and for {3}{W}{W} attacking creatures you control get +X/+X until end of turn, where X is the number of attacking creatures. A wide attack of Cats becomes lethal.
◈
Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith
Tutor · Tap
A 5/4 for {4}{G}{W}. When it enters, it searches your library for an Equipment card, and if you reveal Hammer of Nazahn it goes onto the battlefield, otherwise into your hand. Whenever an equipped creature you control attacks, you may tap target creature defending player controls.

Playing the Deck

The early game is about mana and cheap Cats. Sol Ring, Cultivate, Nissa's Pilgrimage and Oreskos Explorer ramp you, and Fleecemane Lion, Hungry Lynx, Leonin Shikari, Sunspear Shikari and Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist come down early. Skullclamp and Bloodforged Battle-Axe are cheap Equipment that start working immediately.

The middle of the game is about equipping and attacking. Taj-Nar Swordsmith and Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith find Equipment, Hammer of Nazahn attaches each new Equipment for free, Loxodon Warhammer, Behemoth Sledge and Sword of Vengeance make a Cat huge, and Mirari's Wake pumps the whole team. Jedit Ojanen of Efrava and Kemba, Kha Regent add more Cats.

The late game is about a huge attack. Jazal Goldmane and Raksha Golden Cub make an alpha strike lethal, White Sun's Zenith makes a lot of 2/2 Cats, and Argentum Armor destroys a permanent with each attack. Kindred Summons puts Cats onto the battlefield, Hunter's Prowess and Soul's Majesty draw cards from a big Cat, and Rout and Divine Reckoning reset the board.

Strengths & Weaknesses

Strengths: The deck has a high density of strong Equipment and a huge number of good creatures, so it can build a big threat quickly and protect it. It also has plenty of interaction, including Condemn, Wing Shards, Qasali Pridemage, Relic Crush, Crushing Vines and Stalking Leonin.

Weaknesses: A deck that wants to put many Equipment on one Cat is exposed to removal, and some of the Equipment, such as Argentum Armor, costs a lot to equip. A sweeper is also a big problem for a deck that relies on its creatures.

Verdict
Feline Ferocity is a simple, powerful deck that combines tribal and Equipment themes. It is a good choice for players who like building a single huge Cat and watching it win in combat.
