Disa the Restless costs {2}{B}{R}{G}. Whenever a Lhurgoyf permanent card is put into your graveyard from anywhere other than the battlefield, you put it onto the battlefield. Whenever one or more creatures you control deal combat damage to a player, you create a Tarmogoyf token. Anything that mills or discards a goyf brings it straight back.
The precon already has the big goyfs, including Pyrogoyf, Polygoyf and Barrowgoyf. Each swap below pairs a cut with an add, and every card is scored with the same numbers the Oracle uses to build decks: synergy and inclusion from the Disa decks, plus lift, which shows how much more often a card turns up in Disa decks than in decks that could play it.

What is holding the deck back
Not enough Lhurgoyfs
Tarmogoyf, Terravore, Cosmogoyf and Magnivore are all Lhurgoyf creatures, and Taurean Mauler and Changeling Outcast count as one because changeling gives every creature type. They are among the top-scoring cards the precon leaves out.
No way to put goyfs in the graveyard
Buried Alive, Skull Prophet and Tortured Existence all put creature cards into your graveyard from the library or hand, and Disa returns every Lhurgoyf among them.
Cards that do nothing for Disa
Exterminator Magmarch, Siege-Gang Lieutenant and Find // Finality are not cards Disa, and Infested Thrinax, Tempt with Mayhem and Burnished Hart are each played in about one Disa deck in ten or fewer decks usually play.
The 13 swaps
Each pair shows the numbers for the card coming out and the card going in. Click a card image to zoom.

Exterminator Magmarch is a 5/3 artifact creature for {2}{B}{R} that copies targeted spells. It is not a card Disa decks usually play.
Tarmogoyf is a Lhurgoyf for {1}{G} whose power is the number of card types among cards in all graveyards, and whose toughness is one more. The namesake of Disa's token, and the highest-scoring card the precon leaves out.

Siege-Gang Lieutenant is a 2/2 for {3}{R} that makes Goblins while you control your commander. It is not a card Disa, and the Goblins are not the plan decks usually play.
Buried Alive costs {2}{B}: you search for up to three creature cards and put them into your graveyard. Every Lhurgoyf you find returns to the battlefield through Disa, and the rest are ready to reanimate.

Infested Thrinax is a 4/4 flash Lizard for {3}{B}{G} that makes Saprolings when your nontoken creatures die this turn. It is played in about one Disa deck in thirteen.
Terravore is a Lhurgoyf for {1}{G}{G} with trample. Its power and toughness equal the number of land cards in all graveyards. A trampler that grows with every fetch land.

Tempt with Mayhem copies an instant or sorcery for you and for any opponent who wants one. It is played in about one Disa deck in ten.
Taurean Mauler is a 2/2 for {2}{R} with changeling, so it is a Lhurgoyf. Whenever an opponent casts a spell you may put a +1/+1 counter on it, and it comes back through Disa when it is milled or discarded.

Burnished Hart is a 2/2 artifact creature for {3} that sacrifices itself for two basic lands. It is played in about one Disa deck in ten.
Cosmogoyf is a Lhurgoyf for {B}{G} whose power equals the number of cards you own in exile, and whose toughness is one more. A two-mana goyf that Disa can bring back.

Izoni, Thousand-Eyed costs six: it makes an Insect for each creature card in your graveyard, and can sacrifice creatures to draw. It is played in about one Disa deck in nine.
Changeling Outcast is a 1/1 for {B} that cannot block and cannot be blocked. It is a Lhurgoyf as well as every other type, and an unblockable creature turns on Disa's Tarmogoyf trigger every turn.

Garruk, Apex Predator is a seven-mana planeswalker that makes 3/3 deathtouch Beasts and destroys creatures. It is played in about one Disa deck in nine.
Magnivore is a Lhurgoyf with haste for {2}{R}{R}. Its power and toughness equal the number of sorcery cards in all graveyards. A hasty attacker triggers Disa the turn it arrives.

Junji, the Midnight Sky is a 5/5 flying menace Dragon for {3}{B}{B} that returns creatures when it dies. It is played in about one Disa deck in eight.
Skull Prophet is a 3/1 for {B}{G}. It taps for {B} or {G}, or taps to mill two cards. Milling goyfs puts them straight onto the battlefield with Disa, and it is a mana dork too.

Sawhorn Nemesis is a 2/4 for {3}{R} that doubles damage dealt to a chosen player or their permanents. It is played in about one Disa deck in six.
Tortured Existence costs {B}. For {B} and a discard, you return a creature card from your graveyard to your hand. Discarding a Lhurgoyf puts it onto the battlefield through Disa, and a goyf in the graveyard can be returned.

Deathreap Ritual draws a card at the end step if a creature died this turn. It is played in about one Disa deck in five.
Garruk's Uprising costs {2}{G}. Your creatures have trample, and you draw a card when it enters or whenever a creature with power 4 or greater enters under your control. Big goyfs draw cards, and trample gets damage through.

Bituminous Blast is a five-mana instant that cascades and deals 4 damage to a creature. It is played in about one Disa deck in ten.
Nethergoyf is a one-mana Lhurgoyf whose power is the number of card types in your graveyard and whose toughness is one more, with escape. It is one of the highest-scoring cards the precon leaves out.

Bloodbraid Elf is a 3/2 haste Elf Berserker for {2}{R}{G} that cascades. It is played in about one Disa deck in seven.
Ripples of Undeath costs {1}{B}. At the beginning of your first main phase you mill three cards, then may pay {1} and 3 life to put one of them into your hand. It fills the graveyard every turn and refills your hand.

Bloodbraid Challenger is a 4/3 haste cascade creature for {3}{R}{G} with escape. It is played in about one Disa deck in six.
Six is a 2/4 reach legendary Treefolk for {2}{G}. Whenever it attacks you mill three cards and may put a land from among them into your hand, and on your turn nonland permanent cards in your graveyard have retrace. A creature that mills and recasts from the graveyard.

What to keep
These cards are doing the deck's heavy lifting. Do not cut them.
- Pyrogoyf$1.14
Played in 98% of Disa decks. Whenever it or another Lhurgoyf you control enters, it deals damage equal to its power to any target. - Polygoyf$0.25
A trampling Lhurgoyf with myriad that makes token copies attack other opponents. - Barrowgoyf$13.58
A deathtouch, lifelink Lhurgoyf that mills cards and finds creatures when it deals combat damage to a player. - Mortivore$0.31
Its power and toughness equal the creature cards in all graveyards, and it can regenerate. - Tarmogoyf Nest$0.20
An Aura that lets the enchanted land make a Tarmogoyf each turn.
If you want to spend more
These are strong but sit outside a budget upgrade. Prices are the cheapest paper printing.
- Ashes of the Fallen$7.85
Chooses a creature type, such as Lhurgoyf, so every creature card in your graveyard returns through Disa.
Graveyard Overdrive already has the big goyfs. The upgrade is more cheap Lhurgoyfs and the cards that put them into the graveyard so Disa returns them, in place of cards that do nothing for her. These thirteen swaps cost about $32 in total.

How the numbers work
Inclusion is the share of Disa the Restless decks (12,457 of them when this was written, 2026-10-27) that play the card. Synergy is how much more often they play it than other decks in the same colours. Oracle score is synergy × 0.6 plus inclusion × 0.4, the same blend The Oracle uses to rank cards for a deck. Lift compares how often the card appears in these decks with how often it could, capped at 8× here; it is shown for context and does not change the score.
Two cautions. Players who run the precon unmodified count as Disa the Restless decks, which flatters every card the precon contains. Lift is very high for the goyfs because few decks play them outside this kind of deck, so use lift to compare cards, not to judge one in isolation. A card the commander's decks do not usually play counts as 0 in the average score. Prices are the cheapest non-foil paper printing on TCGplayer (via Scryfall), in USD, and move daily.
