Éowyn, Shieldmaiden costs {2}{U}{R}{W} and is a 5/4 with first strike. At the beginning of combat on your turn, if another Human entered under your control this turn, you create two 2/2 red Human Knight tokens with trample and haste, and if you control six or more Humans you draw a card. A single Human each turn makes two Knights, which are Humans.
The precon already has the Human payoffs, including Beregond of the Guard, Lossarnach Captain, Shared Animosity and Théoden, King of Rohan. Each swap below pairs a cut with an add, and every card is scored with the same numbers the Oracle uses to build decks: synergy and inclusion from the Éowyn decks, plus lift, which shows how much more often a card turns up in Éowyn decks than in decks that could play it.

What is holding the deck back
Not enough ways to make Humans
Horn of Gondor, Adeline, Resplendent Cathar and Castle Ardenvale make Human tokens, and Faramir and Bard's Company make them from recruit or attacks. They are among the top-scoring cards the precon leaves out.
Cheap Humans that reward more Humans
Coppercoat Vanguard, Thalia's Lieutenant and Champion of the Parish are two-drop and one-drop Humans that get bigger or make the team bigger whenever another Human enters.
Monarch cards and one-offs
Fealty to the Realm and Court of Ire hand the monarchy to opponents, and Dearly Departed, Gimli of the Glittering Caves and Grey Host Reinforcements are not cards Éowyn at all decks usually play.

- Minas Tirith$5.98
A land that draws a card when you attack with two or more creatures. - Blade Historian$4.50
Gives attacking creatures double strike.
Riders of Rohan already has the Human payoffs. The upgrade is cheap Humans that enter every turn and engines that make more of them, in place of monarch cards and one-offs that do little. These twelve swaps cost about $17 in total.

How the numbers work
Inclusion is the share of Éowyn, Shieldmaiden decks (15,635 of them when this was written, 2026-10-27) that play the card. Synergy is how much more often they play it than other decks in the same colours. Oracle score is synergy × 0.6 plus inclusion × 0.4, the same blend The Oracle uses to rank cards for a deck. Lift compares how often the card appears in these decks with how often it could, capped at 8× here; it is shown for context and does not change the score.
Two cautions. Players who run the precon unmodified count as Éowyn decks, which flatters every card the precon contains. Lift is moderate for most of these cards because they are played in many Human decks, so use lift to compare cards, not to judge one in isolation. A card the commander's decks do not usually play counts as 0 in the average score. Prices are the cheapest non-foil paper printing on TCGplayer (via Scryfall), in USD, and move daily.
