Omo, Queen of Vesuva costs {2}{G/U}. Whenever Omo enters or attacks, you put an everything counter on up to one target land and up to one target creature. A land with an everything counter is every land type, and a nonland creature with one is every creature type. One counter on Omo herself makes her an Elf, a Wizard, a Merfolk and an Illusion all at once.
The precon already has the land fetching and the type changers, including Sylvan Scrying, Sage of the Maze and Dryad of the Ilysian Grove. Each swap below pairs a cut with an add, and every card is scored with the same numbers the Oracle uses to build decks: synergy and inclusion from the Omo decks, plus lift, which shows how much more often a card turns up in Omo decks than in decks that could play it.

What is holding the deck back
Not enough lords for Omo to turn on
Lord of the Unreal, Hakbal of the Surging Soul, Priest of Titania, Azami, Lady of Scrolls and Baru, Wurmspeaker each reward a creature type, and one everything counter on Omo makes her every type at once. They are among the top-scoring cards the precon leaves out.
Too few Gates and land-type payoffs
Baldur's Gate and Manor Gate are Gates, and a land with an everything counter is a Gate too. Sage of the Maze's mana and its Citizen ability count the Gates you control.
Cards that do little for the plan
Fog Bank, Seer's Sundial, Oblivion Stone, Floriferous Vinewall and Skullwinder are each played in about one Omo deck in eight or fewer.
The 14 swaps
Each pair shows the numbers for the card coming out and the card going in. Click a card image to zoom.

Fog Bank is a 0/2 flying defender for {1}{U} that prevents combat damage to and from it. It is played in about one Omo deck in eight.
Lord of the Unreal is a 2/2 Human Wizard for {U}{U}. Illusion creatures you control get +1/+1 and hexproof, and an Omo with an everything counter is an Illusion. It is the highest-scoring card the precon leaves out apart from Baldur's Gate.

Seer's Sundial costs four and makes you pay {2} each time a land enters to draw a card. It is played in about one Omo deck in nine.
Baldur's Gate is a legendary land Gate that taps for {C}. For {2} and a tap it adds X mana of one color, where X is the number of other Gates you control. A land that scales with every Gate and is the top-scoring card the precon leaves out.

Oblivion Stone is a three-mana sweeper that costs {5} and a sacrifice to use, and it destroys your own board. It is played in about one Omo deck in nine.
Maskwood Nexus costs {4}. Creatures you control are every creature type, and for {3} and a tap it makes a 2/2 Shapeshifter with changeling. Every lord in the deck works for every creature you have, not just the one with Omo's counter.

Floriferous Vinewall is a 0/2 defender for {1}{G} that finds a land from the top six cards. It is played in about one Omo deck in eight.
Hakbal of the Surging Soul is a 3/3 for {2}{G}{U}. At the beginning of combat each Merfolk you control explores, and when Hakbal attacks you may put a land from your hand onto the battlefield or else draw a card. Omo with a counter is a Merfolk, and so is Hakbal.

Skullwinder is a 1/3 deathtouch for {2}{G} that returns a card from your graveyard and gives an opponent one back. It is played in about one Omo deck in eight.
Priest of Titania is a 1/1 for {1}{G} that taps for {G} for each Elf on the battlefield. Omo with a counter is an Elf, as is Sage of the Maze, so it can tap for several mana.

Acidic Slime is a 2/2 deathtouch for {3}{G}{G} that destroys an artifact, enchantment or land. It is played in about one Omo deck in six, and destroying a land is the opposite of what the deck does.
Azami, Lady of Scrolls is a 0/2 for {2}{U}{U}{U} with the ability to tap an untapped Wizard you control to draw a card. Sage of the Maze and Omo with a counter are both Wizards, so she draws a card for each one.

Jyoti, Moag Ancient makes a Dryad land for each time you have cast your commander from the command zone and pumps land creatures. It is played in about one Omo deck in seven.
Baru, Wurmspeaker is a 3/3 for {2}{G}{G}. Wurms you control get +2/+2 and trample, and for {7}{G} and a tap you create a 4/4 Wurm, for less as your Wurms get bigger. Omo with a counter is a Wurm, so she becomes a 3/7 trampler.

Treasure Cruise is an eight-mana draw spell with delve, in a deck that does not fill its graveyard. It is played in about one Omo deck in seven.
Oracle of Mul Daya is a 2/2 Elf Shaman for {3}{G}. You may play an additional land each turn, you play with the top card of your library revealed, and you may play lands from the top. Every land is a free card and a chance for Omo to turn it into a Gate.

Summary Dismissal exiles all other spells and counters all abilities for four mana. It is played in about one Omo deck in six.
Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood is a 6/6 for {4}{G}{U}. Whenever it enters or attacks it puts a flood counter on a land that makes it an Island, and at your end step you untap each permanent you control that has a counter on it. Omo's everything counters untap too, so your lands and Omo untap each turn.

Rampant Frogantua is a 3/3 trampler for {2}{G} that only gets big when a player loses the game. It is played in about one Omo deck in five.
Manor Gate is a Gate land that enters tapped and taps for {G} or a chosen color. A land that is a Gate for Baldur's Gate and Sage of the Maze, and fixes your mana.

Poison Dart Frog ({1}{G}) is one of the lowest-scoring cards in the precon, at 9 in the Oracle: it is in 13% of Omo decks with 7% synergy. It reads: Reach. {T}: Add one mana of any color. {2}: This creature gains deathtouch until end of turn.
Aven Courier ({1}{U}) scores 42: it is in 43% of Omo decks with 41% synergy. It reads: Flying. Whenever this creature attacks, choose a counter on a permanent you control. Put a counter of that kind on target permanent you control if it doesn't have a counter of that kind on it.

Satyr Wayfinder ({1}{G}) is one of the lowest-scoring cards in the precon, at 13 in the Oracle: it is in 14% of Omo decks with 13% synergy. It reads: When this creature enters, reveal the top four cards of your library. You may put a land card from among them into your hand. Put the rest into your graveyard.
Whelming Wave ({2}{U}{U}) scores 38: it is in 44% of Omo decks with 33% synergy. It reads: Return all creatures to their owners' hands except for Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents.

Vivien Reid ({3}{G}{G}) is one of the lowest-scoring cards in the precon, at 19 in the Oracle: it is in 20% of Omo decks with 19% synergy. It reads: +1: Look at the top four cards of your library. You may reveal a creature or land card from among them and put it into your hand.
Crop Rotation ({G}) scores 37: it is in 43% of Omo decks with 32% synergy. It reads: As an additional cost to cast this spell, sacrifice a land. Search your library for a land card, put that card onto the battlefield, then shuffle.

Chromatic Lantern ({3}) is one of the lowest-scoring cards in the precon, at 19 in the Oracle: it is in 20% of Omo decks with 18% synergy. It reads: Lands you control have "{T}: Add one mana of any color.". {T}: Add one mana of any color.
Elvish Archdruid ({1}{G}{G}) scores 35: it is in 37% of Omo decks with 33% synergy. It reads: Other Elf creatures you control get +1/+1. {T}: Add {G} for each Elf you control.

What to keep
These cards are doing the deck's heavy lifting. Do not cut them.
- Sylvan Scrying$0.32
Played in 74% of Omo decks. Finds any land, including a Gate or a Desert. - Sage of the Maze$0.32
Taps for two mana of any combination of colors, and turns a land into a hasty creature that is bigger with each Gate. - Hour of Promise$0.26
Puts two lands onto the battlefield, and makes two Zombies if you control three or more Deserts. - Dryad of the Ilysian Grove$9.28
Lets you play an additional land each turn and makes your lands every basic land type. - Magus of the Candelabra$0.34
Untaps X lands for {X}, which pays for Baldur's Gate again.
If you want to spend more
These are strong but sit outside a budget upgrade. Prices are the cheapest paper printing.
- Doppelgang$1.38
Makes X copies of each of X target permanents, a huge payoff late in the game.
Tricky Terrain already has the land fetching and the type changers. The upgrade is cheap lords for Omo's everything counter to turn on, Gates that count each other, and the Nexus that gives every creature every type, in place of walls and cards that do little in a land-type deck. These fourteen swaps cost about $22 in total.

How the numbers work
Inclusion is the share of Omo, Queen of Vesuva decks (13,243 of them when this was written, 2026-10-27) that play the card. Synergy is how much more often they play it than other decks in the same colours. Oracle score is synergy × 0.6 plus inclusion × 0.4, the same blend The Oracle uses to rank cards for a deck. Lift compares how often the card appears in these decks with how often it could, capped at 8× here; it is shown for context and does not change the score.
Two cautions. Players who run the precon unmodified count as Omo decks, which flatters every card the precon contains. Lift is very high for the lords because few decks play them outside a tribal deck, so use lift to compare cards, not to judge one in isolation. Prices are the cheapest non-foil paper printing on TCGplayer (via Scryfall), in USD, and move daily.
