Overview
Exit from Exile is a deck that plays cards from exile. Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald creates a 2/2 green Wolf creature token whenever you cast a spell from exile or a land you control enters from exile, and for {1}, a tap and a discarded card she exiles the top card of your library and lets you play it this turn. Almost everything in the deck feeds that engine.
The 99 cards are 27 creatures, 2 planeswalkers, 4 artifacts, 7 enchantments, 5 instants, 15 sorceries and 39 lands. Many of the cards exile the top of your library for you, including Escape to the Wilds, Ignite the Future, Light Up the Stage, Jeska's Will, Laelia, the Blade Reforged and Outpost Siege. Cascade cards, such as Bloodbraid Elf, Aurora Phoenix, Sweet-Gum Recluse and Volcanic Torrent, cast spells from exile too, and each of those spells makes a Wolf with Faldorn.
Key Cards
Playing the Deck
The early game is about mana and exiling cards. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Cultivate, Kodama's Reach, Nature's Lore, Three Visits, Sakura-Tribe Elder and Explore ramp you, and Dire Fleet Daredevil casts an instant or sorcery from an opponent's graveyard. Light Up the Stage and Jeska's Will give you cards and mana, and Faldorn, Dread Wolf Herald can exile the top card for {1}, a tap and a discard.
The middle of the game is about casting from exile and making Wolves. Stolen Strategy lets you cast the top card of each opponent's library each upkeep, Outpost Siege exiles the top card every upkeep, Journey to the Lost City exiles the top four cards of your library each upkeep and rolls a d20, and Durnan of the Yawning Portal exiles creatures to cast later. Sarevok's Tome takes the initiative and makes extra mana, and Xenagos, the Reveler and Vivien, Champion of the Wilds help with mana and creature spells.
The late game is about huge creatures and a big burn spell. Etali, Primal Storm casts free spells whenever it attacks, Hornet Queen, End-Raze Forerunners and Tlincalli Hunter // Retrieve Prey are huge threats, and Delayed Blast Fireball deals 5 damage to each opponent and their creatures when cast from exile. Primeval Bounty makes a Beast for each creature spell, and Ezuri's Predation makes a Beast for each opposing creature.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths: The deck produces a lot of card advantage, its creatures are efficient, and it has plenty of ramp, so it rarely runs out of resources. It also has real interaction, including Beast Within, Demon Bolt, Mizzium Mortars, Natural Reclamation and Green Slime.
Weaknesses: Most exiled cards must be played in a limited window, so the deck can waste cards when it does not have mana to use them, and many effects have a random element. The deck also relies on Faldorn and a few key enablers such as Wild-Magic Sorcerer and Nalfeshnee, so removal on those cards slows it down.
